The following responsibilities for the Membership Development and Retention Committee serve as guidelines for committee operation. These guidelines are subject to change as situations may warrant.

Research, develop and maintain recruitment programs attracting new members to the REACT Auxiliary Communications program as they relate to standards of the regular, junior, affiliate and life memberships.
- Develop membership recruitment material with the Public relations committee targeting all classes of membership.
- Research and develop a membership handbook outlining membership recruitment and retention of regular, junior, affiliate and life memberships.
- Research and develop junior and affiliate membership program to advance these members towards regular membership when appropriate.
- Work with all Regional Director and teams in membership recruitment.

Research, develop and maintain retention programs of members separating from all classes of REACT membership.
- Receive a list of teams, with contact information, that have not renewed in April of each year for membership follow-up.

Reach out to each non-renewed team to speak with a team representative and document all possible reasons for member separation, to include;
- Identifying reason for members and or teams opting for non-renewal
- Identifying types of Team activities as related to non-renewal.
- Identifying typical training for these Team activities that may improve renewal
- Identifying perceived role of REACT International assisting team membership retention by asking: “what can REACT International do to help teams retain members”
- Identifying team satisfaction with the frequency of contact by regional directors.
- Assist all Regional Directors in recruiting separated teams and members
- Assist all Regional Directors with specific recruitment and retention concerns when requested.
- Research membership policies, training, handbook and other publication concerns of separated membership and propose recommendations to the Board of Directors as it relates to membership retention.
- Research, develop and maintain a membership feedback program providing member input to the committee regarding team needs of attracting new members.
