The role of the Public Relations Committeeis to assist the Board of Directors and the organization with innovative approaches in formulating strategies and recommending new initiatives, subject to the approval by the Board of Directors, to publicize the program through strategic marketing and advertising techniques, to include REACT Mission, objectives, membership growth, training, capabilities and field operations.

  • Media releases for national media outlets.
  • Recommend promotional signs, banners, posters, emblems, bumper stickers, printed materials, etc. for distribution to members and the general public.  The Committee may be asked to implement ideas if necessary.
  • Develop a delivery system for such promotional material for use by all Teams and Councils.
  • Solicit, maintain and update REACT advertisements in appropriate magazines and catalogs.
  • Support Team and Council efforts in specific public relations efforts.
  • Develop and Maintain REACT International Public Service Announcements (PSA) promoting Citizen based sources of communications that are available to the general public.
    • Identify advantages of each band relative to general, emergency and disaster use.
    • Identify limitations of each band relative to general, emergency and disaster use.
    • Identify emergency monitoring frequencies of each band that REACT Monitors.
  • Develop and Maintain REACT International Public Service Announcement (PSA) promoting Team based sources of communications that are available to Government Organizations, charity public service events and the general public as potential use of teams.
    • Identify advantages of each band relative to general, emergency and disaster use.
    • Identify limitations of each band relative to general, emergency and disaster use.
    • Identify emergency monitoring frequencies of each band that REACT Monitors.
  • Anticipating, analyzing and interpreting public opinion, attitudes and issues that might impact, for good or ill, the operations and plans of the organization.
  • Making recommendations to the board of directors with regard to policy decisions, courses of action and communication, taking into account their public ramifications and the organization’s public and membership responsibilities.
  • Otherwise, focuses on building good relations with the public by obtaining favorable publicity, building a good corporate image, and handling crisis management issues.
  • Communicating REACT messages at the right time and in the right place to the right audience. With the proliferation of tools and technologies, measure the value of those efforts and how they align with the REACT mission.
  • Manage all REACT international social networks i.e. twitter, facebook, etc.,  with timely updates of REACT activities as a tool to obtaining favorable publicity, building a good corporate image, and handling crisis management issues.
